If this resort was just a little closer to home, I'd play here as my home course. Every golf trip I make out to Saddlebrook is a pleasure, whether I play the Palmer Course or the Saddlebrook Course. There's plenty of memorable holes on each course and the layouts have plenty to make you manage your game to get around without big numbers. Saddlebrook Course is tighter off the tee, but Palmer is more of an adventure on the greens if you aren't putting well. The director of golf here is one of the true professionals of the industry locally and an all around good guy. He really takes good care of every aspect of the golf experience, makes sure both courses are properly maintained and goes above and beyond for clients who book outings at his property. Beverage cart girls stay out on the course later than virtually any other place I play in the summertime in the Tampa Bay area. She even stuck around today even after a vicious dose of lightning came through and scared virtually everyone off the course mid-afternoon. Starters, rangers and cart guys are good dudes and the valet parking attendants really take care of those of us playing golf for the day and not just resort guests. Valet parking is free with paid golf and you can simply walk with your clubs to the Pro Shop. It is a short walk past the pool area and you can even drop your clubs at valet parking before taking your cart back and they'll pull your car around and have it waiting when you walk back. It isn't like you have to tip four different people to accomplish coming and going at Saddlebrook, unlike what others have written on this page. Oh, and more than a few of us have either had a nice lunch poolside (served extremely fast) before our round or a couple quality cocktails at the poolside bar after it. You just don't get that option many other places in the Tampa Bay Area.

Review is for golf courses only. Two fantastic courses here Saddlebrook course is a little tighter, tougher and more scenic. Both are in fantastic shape. My rating would be 5 star except for the requirement that you have to valet your car to play golf, while it is complimentary it requires a ride to and from the valet area to the pro shop. So you have four people to tip, driver to the pro shop, club cleaning guy, driver back to valet and finally the valet that delivers your car. Pretend your going to a strip club, bring singles.

I went here to the conference center for the Women's Health and Wellness Day. I had never been before, and it was pretty cool to see how amazing it was in this area. Who would have thought there was such huge old rich homes in this area. I went to the conference center, and it was alright to me. There was not much character or color. I thought it was a little bit dated like the 70's or 80's. There were a good number of booths and venders for this wellness day and that was pretty good. There after I went to another big room for a presentation and a pretty good size lunch. The servers were very nice and helpful, and the food was pretty good and healthy. Three different t types of wraps, pasta salad, and cup cakes and cake pops. That was very nice. There was a designated spot to park, and then the shuttle bus would take us to the area. That was confusing at times, and the parking was pretty packed and hard to find spots. All in all, I am glad I checked it out especially since it was close to home.

Had a great stay here. The Hopman Tennis adult clinic was great, 5 stars without a doubt, they'll work you as hard as you can go and their video reviews and critiques are spot on. Saddlebrook the resort is nice, the grounds are huge and almost like a nature preserve, wildlife everywhere, deer, alligators, herons, egrets, etc. The pools are huge with a nice bar and grill poolside, the breakfast buffet is awesome, service in the restaurants is top notch. Just about everybody we encountered working there was extremely friendly very helpful, very impressive. On the downsides, the condos are dated, no getting around it. I heard some of the condos have been renovated, the one we stayed could use it. I'm being picky, but I'd guess a lot of the customers that stay here are like me and are used to seeing granite or marble counter tops, relatively fresh carpet and tile, flat screen tvs, nice fixtures, etc, so its a bit of let down when you see a room out of the '80s. On the plus side, the condo was very comfortable, had a full kitchen, large fridge, cook top and microwave, comfortable bed and was clean, so no real complaints other than cosmetic. The must-use valet service and parking fee is a push. The resort is designed so there's no traffic around the rooms, which is great for wildlife and peace & quiet. But when you want your car you'll need some small bills. The valet service and guys are very good though, never had to wait more than a couple minutes for the car. All in all had a great stay, enjoyed the resort and can't wait to return.

The resort itself has great amenities. The accommodations are in need of an update. The spa was very clean; although the massage therapist was mediocre. The tennis courts i saw were plentiful and in great shape. I did not play a round of golf. I was very surprised to see the number of kids around the pool area. I can not express how disappointing Dempseys Steakhouse was. We were all very excited, but very much let down. When I saw bone-in filet on the menu, I couldn't wait to try it. Unfortunately, the steak was undercooked, and not a very good cut of beef-not worth a fraction of the $46.95 price. Two of the other three steaks were also not good. Additionally, the server was young, not knowledgeable and didn't seem to enjoy his job.

What more can one ask for to be given the opportunity to head to such a wonderful resort in the middle of winter. Well my point is I was definitely a happy camper to be leaving wet San Francisco for some warmer climates. Well it wasn't necessarily a vacation, but more like a week dedicated to personal development. The course was based on Steven Covey's, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. For the most part our sessions were held on site although we did have a couple offsite dinners. The Saddlebrook Resort was an ideal place to hold such a conference. The facilities were clean, well kept, and the catering team kept on top of things whether it was our morning breakfasts, daily lunches, or just the snacks that were set up in our conference room. The rooms/suites were rather well proportioned. They were clean and there is free wireless throughout the entire property. It should be noted that the property is quite large consisting of what I would call unattached buildings. Not to worry there are golf carts to get you to/from the different places on the property, whether it be your room, the pool, or the tennis courts. The pool area was rather large for those that want to sit out and lounge. For the most part the pool area was never overly crowded and getting a lounge chair wasn't difficult at all. As for dining the options were quite slim as there are 3 dining facilites on the property. There is T.D's Sports Lounge, which has your typical bar food. The other full service dining option is Dempsey's Steak House. Dempsey's menu was decent and if you do go there I recommend the Chilean SeaBass as it was excellent. The only negative about Dempsey's is everything is a la carte. The other dining option Tropic's. They were in the process of renovating the area so Tropics was only open for breakfast and lunch. Overall the resort is great for those looking for some well needed rest and relaxation. If you want to have a conference they seem to cater to that too as there were multiple conferences going on in addition to ours. The dining options might get boring if you're there for an extended period of time, but if you have a car I guess you might have more options.

Meh. I came here with a large conference. I found the facilities to be nice but the service was not. I suppose it would've been ok for a smaller group but the place did not staff for our large group despite the fact that our plans were booked almost a year in advance. They only had 1 bartender on after a HUGE awards dinner. They ran out of red wine and dinner rolls during our meal. I asked for coffee after dinner, but never received it. I just don't think that they prepared. I agree with the other reviewer about the bungalows being far away. It's quite a walk and if you're in heels, it can be brutal. It was just meh.

One has to consider the entire package when reviewing Saddlebrook because there is so much that is good about it and only a few things that could use some improvement. So let's start with the good. The property is beautiful and large. It has really nice pools, one is even heated which is nice when you are visiting in February, nice pool bar, and the tennis facilities are amazing. They have clay, hard and grass courts and one of the best instructional programs in the US. The bad includes the rooms. While they are large, I think they are privately owned condos so they can be hit and miss. We stayed on a lower floor and the noise isolation is an issue. I would stay on a top floor if you can get it. The only other concern is a big one and that is the staff. Not exactly Ritz Carlton type service at the front desk and lots of confusion regarding discounts associated with the convention that we were attending. Ultimately it comes down to would I stay here again? and the answer is a quick yes. Over look the front desk and get an upper level room. Enjoy the pools, the bar, and the tennis facilities. (sorry I didn't play golf).

Terrible place. it's over 2 hours past checkin time and I still don't have a room because housekeeping are so slow (same as last year)... also WiFi in hotel doesn't work... I guess some people come to relax but I have to come for work and this place is terrible, absolutely terrible

My $400 sunglasses were stolen from my room. I never took them out of the room. Enough said. Horrible. The employees ride the golf cart unprofessionally. The lunch wait was beyond slow. Never come here. The fact that my property was stolen is disgusting.

Very nice resort with beautiful grounds, pools, tennis courts and restaurants. It was a very relaxing place....as a resort obviously should be. Keep in mind that there is no self-parking so you will have to valet (and be charged) for the duration of your stay.

I have been to the Saddlebrook Resort holiday buffets on multiple occasions, finding the food generally very good and the variety of items excellent. I have found that service is sometimes lacking, especially during the busy holiday occasions. The service was poor on Easter Sunday and when told, the manager did not seem overly concerned. It is not good service if drinks don't arrive in a reasonable fashion, dishes are not cleared, and drink refills and coffee are not offered. For well over $50 per person I would expect better service.

I was here for a 2-day conference and did not stay here. The food we had for lunch along with the service was excellent. Some parts of the resort feel/look outdated but the rest of the property that I saw was beautiful. The staff did an excellent job accommodating our group.
